To Our Potomac Families and Friends,

The leaders at Potomac Programs served their first family 25 years ago. From that day and ever since we have been known within our industry as purveyors of the highest quality of care and safety standards.

I assure you that safety – emotional, physical and psychological – is the primary component in all that we do, and it remains of utmost importance to us now. Furthermore, as accredited and licensed facilities, infection control has always been a part of Potomac Programs’ every-day operations.

We are facing unsettling times. We are deeply cognizant that anxiety, depression, fear and suicidal thoughts are exacerbated during crises such as the one we are all experiencing linked to the recent coronavirus. As many of you know, our Big Hairy Audacious Goal is to drive the levels of anxiety, depression and suicide from the all-time highs of today to all-time lows as quickly as we can.

We are doing our part to flatten the curve and slow the spread of COVID-19 in Maryland. Our services are now virtual! These consist of outpatient groups for three hours per day, four-to-six days per week. (We refer to it as "virtual IOP", which stands for "intensive outpatient".) We also offer virtual family therapy, individual therapy and virtual medication management with a psychiatrist. We can bill all of these to your insurance company. Check out our Virtual Potomac services here

We plan to resume in-person services as soon as it is safe to do so. Our team stands ready to serve you.

Two weeks ago, our parent company, Embark Behavioral Health created the Embark Coronavirus Taskforce. The Task Force is comprised of doctors and nurses, clinicians and program operators. I am also on the Task Force and we meet multiple times each week. We are closely tracking the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local health and licensing agencies for the latest developments and best practices related to COVID-19.
